A crew that knows Halton and the GTA housing stock

Every neighbourhood out here has its own quirks. A 1960s Oakville bungalow with a low basement ceiling is a different job than a 2015 Milton townhouse with an unfinished lower level poured to modern height. We've worked both, and everything between.

Older housing stock

Homes built before the 1990s often carry original wiring, low ceiling heights in the basement, and clay weeping tile that's due for an upgrade. We plan around it instead of pretending it isn't there.

New-build subdivisions

Newer GTA builds come with taller basements and modern rough-ins, but builder-grade finishes that don't hold up long term. We reno with materials that outlast what came in the box.

Freeze-thaw reality

Ontario winters push and pull at foundations every year. Any basement or addition work we do accounts for that movement, not just the summer weather it's built in.

One crew, one schedule

We don't franchise the job out to whoever's free. The same lead carpenter who quotes the work runs it start to finish.

The problem

Most reno quotes are guesses dressed up as numbers

You call around, get three different numbers for the same job, and none of them explain what's actually driving the cost. Then the drywall comes off and there's a surprise nobody mentioned — knob-and-tube wiring, a cracked lally column, subfloor rot from an old leak. Now the timeline and the budget are both blown.

Our solution

We open the walls before we write the number

Reno Scale does an actual site walk before quoting anything real. We check the panel, the framing, the moisture readings in the basement. The quote you get reflects what's behind the drywall, not just the square footage. Fewer surprises mid-job, and if something does turn up, you hear about it from us before we touch it, not after.

Why GTA homeowners hire Reno Scale

No franchise script here — just a crew that treats your house like it matters, because it's the only one you've got.

Licensed & Insured

Every job carries proper licensing and liability coverage. Ask to see the paperwork — we'll send it over.

Straight Timelines

We tell you how long a job takes and what could push it, before the tools come out of the truck.

Trade-Honest Advice

If a cheaper material does the job just as well, we'll say so. We're not padding the invoice.

Built for Ontario Homes

Every material choice accounts for freeze-thaw cycles, humidity swings and the age of your house.

Cleaner Job Sites

Dust barriers, daily cleanup, and respect for the rest of your house while we work on one part of it.

Tools-First Thinking

We talk in materials and methods, not marketing terms. You'll know exactly what's going into your home.

How It Works

How a project with us actually runs

Four steps, no surprises tucked into the fine print.

  1. 1

    Email us the basics

Send photos, a rough idea of scope, and your city or neighbourhood. We reply with next steps, not a sales pitch.

  2. 2

    Site walk & real quote

We come look at the space in person — panel, framing, moisture — and build a quote off what we actually find.

  3. 3

    Permits & scheduling

If the job needs a permit, we pull it. We lock in a start date and tell you honestly how long it'll run.

  4. 4

    Build & daily cleanup

Our crew works the job start to finish, cleans up daily, and walks you through the space before we call it done.

Questions homeowners ask before booking

Do you work outside Oakville?

Yes. Oakville is home base, but we run jobs across the whole GTA — Halton, Peel, York, Durham and the City of Toronto. Email us your city and we'll confirm scheduling.

Do you handle permits yourselves?

For work that requires one — additions, structural changes, some basement finishes — yes, we pull the permit and coordinate the inspections as part of the job.

How do I get a quote?

Email us with a few photos and a short description of the space. We'll ask a couple of follow-up questions and set up a site visit if it makes sense.

Do you only do full gut renovations?

No. We take on full renos and smaller scope-limited jobs, like a single bathroom refresh or a flooring swap in one room.

What happens if you find a problem mid-job?

We stop, show you what we found — a photo, an explanation — and give you options before doing anything that changes cost or timeline.
