Flooring installation for GTA homes

Wood floors move. That's not a defect, it's physics — and in a region that swings from humid summers to bone-dry forced-air winters, we plan for that movement instead of pretending it won't happen.

Acclimation before install

We let hardwood and engineered flooring sit in the house for days before installation so it adjusts to your home's actual humidity, not the warehouse's.

Expansion gaps sized right

Baseboards and transitions get set with the right gap so floors have room to expand in July without buckling.

Subfloor levelness

We check the subfloor with a level before install. A floor's only as flat as what's underneath it.

Right material for the room

Tile or luxury vinyl for below-grade and wet areas, engineered wood where solid hardwood would fight the moisture level.

The problem

Cupped or gapped floors are almost always an install problem, not a product problem

Homeowners often blame the flooring brand when boards start cupping in August or gapping in February. Most of the time it's not the product — it's flooring installed without acclimation, or nailed down tight against a wall with no room to move at all.

Our solution

We install for the humidity swing, not just for the day of install

We factor in your home's HVAC setup, whether the basement below is finished or open, and how much seasonal humidity swing to expect. Expansion gaps, underlayment choice and acclimation time all get set around that, so what looks flat in October still looks flat next October.

How It Works

How we install flooring

Four steps that protect the investment in the material itself.

  1. 1

    Material selection & acclimation

We help you pick the right product for the room, then let it sit on-site to adjust to your home's conditions.

  2. 2

    Subfloor prep

Levelling compound, moisture barrier or plywood underlayment gets addressed before install day.

  3. 3

    Installation

Flooring goes down with correct expansion gaps, fastening method and pattern for the material chosen.

  4. 4

    Trim & transitions

Baseboards, thresholds and transition strips get installed to finish the room cleanly.

Why we get called back for flooring

A flooring job is only as good as what you can't see under the boards.

Straight Lead-Time Talk

We tell you upfront if a specific product is backordered instead of leaving you guessing.

Material-Honest Advice

We'll steer you off solid hardwood for a basement, even if that's what you asked for.

Built for This Climate

Expansion gaps and acclimation timing set around Ontario's real seasonal humidity swing.

Clean Cuts, Contained Dust

Saw work stays contained to one area with dust barriers up around the rest of the house.

Subfloor-First Mindset

We check what's underneath before laying anything down — it's where most flooring failures start.

Flooring installation questions

How long does hardwood need to acclimate before installation?

We typically let hardwood and engineered flooring sit in the home for several days before install, depending on the season and the home's humidity levels.

Can you install flooring over a heated floor system?

Yes, with the correct underlayment and material rated for radiant heat. We confirm compatibility before ordering material.

What flooring do you recommend for a basement?

Engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank or tile — all handle below-grade moisture better than solid hardwood, which can warp down there.

Do you remove and haul away old flooring?

Yes, demo and disposal of existing flooring is included in the scope unless you tell us otherwise.

Why are there gaps at the edges of my new floor?

That's the expansion gap, and it's intentional. It gives the wood room to expand during humid months without buckling. Your baseboards or quarter round cover it.
